Natural Resource Management Training

The firms are typically asked to provide tutors and resource persons for training workshops and seminars conducted at the national or regional level for professionals in the Caribbean.  The firms provide environmental management training services to institutions in the following areas:

  • Assessment of training needs.
  • Preparation of training materials.
  • Course design and coordination.

Assignments undertaken by the firms include:

Workforce development and training needs assessment for the environment sector in the Caribbean (2003), undertaken on behalf of the Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Center, University of the Virgin Islands.

Preparation of the Environmental Awareness module of the Team Jamaica Training Programme (1997).

Regional training assignments undertaken by the principals of the firms include the following:

Consultant in Caribbean Natural Heritage Conservation and Management, as part of a two-person team that conducted an assessment of training needs in the Caribbean for cultural and natural heritage conservation, on behalf of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre (2004).

Coordination of the course on Training of Trainers in Marine Protected Areas Management (1999 and 2002), conducted on behalf of the United Nations Environment Programme-Caribbean Environment Programme.

Facilitator at training workshop in resource management for university faculty, organised by the Consortium of Caribbean Universities for Natural Resources Management (1990).
